In August 2013 Prof. Dr. Jan Rothuizen retired as Professor of Internal Medicine and Chair of the Department of Clinical Sciences of Companion Animals at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Utrecht. He was also the initiator and coordinator of the research programme in Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cells.

This documentary, presented by Jan Rothuizen and  leading members of the research team, focuses on the state of affairs surrounding liver disease in the dog, and the first liver stem cell transplants and their significance for human medicine.
